E Paces delivered with missing software

Did you guys see this news about some E Pace owners that discovered their new car was missing vital components that can be retrofitted? Apparently Jaguar just forgot to install it in several 2018 models rendering navigation and phone compatibility useless. There is no way to fix it and Jaguar is offering a $600 credit as compensation. https://driving.ca/jaguar/epace/auto...-wifi-software

It doesn't help either that other JLR vehicle owners I know report service to be a hit or miss unless you own an Autobiography or some other high end model.

QA testing and build quality is still an area that JLR needs to improve on. I don't see how anyone who spent that kind of money on a new luxury SUV would be happy with a mere $600 as an apology. Why not provide them with a new properly functional model?

Being a brand with such a praised image, these setbacks only slightly hinder the brands performance, instead there's an endless stream of wiling buyers.

Wouldn't be surprised if some of them try for a class action suit, just to get a proper response from Jaguar. Not exactly prestigious to be driving around in a brand new car with your phone on the dash for Google Maps.

It probably happens more often than more of us can guess because they will want to keep it out the spot light.

Its better for this to have happened on the E-Pace than their new electric flagship. I know there have been reports of glitches and software issues with the infotainment system, but that's common for any first gen model.

Actually i think this is the worst model to have it happen to being such a lucrative segment. Jaguar needs all they can get before competition creates even more of a divide.

There is no good model for this to have happened on, and Jaguar needs much closer oversight over products leaving the factory. Will be easier with their scaled back production numbers as a result of layoffs.

I disagree, problems will happen and if there's any model to not let it happen its what could be your biggest profit producer.
Sometimes new vehicles are used to test new tech/systems/etc., the C-Pace shouldn't have been one of them.
